Babson Midwest Memorial Foundation

The Babson Midwest Memorial Foundation, Inc. held its annual meeting on Tuesday, June 4. There were 15 members and two guests in attendance. President Troy Richardson called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by the following members: Keith Ball, Tammi Burtin, Bruce Detwiler, Sharyl Edmondson, Karen Engle, Linda Hendrickson, Robin Himes, Kevin Hough, Irlene Huntington, Diltz Lindamood, Dana Mills, Richardson, Steve Spore, Jan Stephens and Mindy Westerman. Guests were Greg Colangelo, CPA and Deb Burtin, Corporate Secretary. T. Burtin read the minutes of the 2023 annual meeting, Colangelo reviewed the December 31, 2023 year-end report and Spore gave the treasurer’s report. All were approved as presented. Corporate Secretary D. Burtin gave a scholarship report.

It was approved for the slate of officers to remain the same including Richardson, President; Hendrickson, Vice-President; Spore, Treasurer; Burtin, Secretary and Board Members will be Michael McClintick, D.O.; Engle, Huntington, Ball and Lindamood.

The Babson Midwest Memorial Foundation was founded on June 19, 1970, with the first scholarship awarded in 1972.

Earnings f r o m investments provide the funds for scholarships awarded annually to graduates of high schools in Greenwood County. Over 500 students have been named Babson Scholars, with over $1,500,000 given in scholarships since 1971, for higher education.
