With the Greenwood County Fair less than two months away, community members are urged to pick up a fair book and make plans to enter an exhibit in the annual event.

With the Greenwood County Fair less than two months away, community members are urged to pick up a fair book and make plans to enter an exhibit in the annual event.

The fair books have a new look to them as they are now in magazine form, instead of newsprint. They also are not included as a part of your weekly edition, but can be picked up at several locations throughout Greenwood County, including The Eureka Herald, Greenwood County Courthouse, post offices, libraries, city offices and more. A complete list of locations can be found elsewhere in this week’s edition.

Included in the annual book, is the open class entry form. The entry form is located on page 3 and is perforated for convenience.

Those wishing to participate in the county fair must enter in the various classes by Monday, July 1.

The change to the magazine was made possible through various sponsors.

The annual fair will be held from Friday, July 26-Monday, July 29, with pre-fair events beginning as early as Saturday, June 22. The shooting sports portion of the fair will kick-off the annual event on June 22 and 23, with archery being held on Saturday and shotgun being held on Sunday. The annual horse show will be held on Saturday, July 20, with the annual style revue being held on Wednesday, July 24.
