The bi-monthly meeting of the Greenwood County 4-H Council was held on May 20 at 7 p.m. in Neal with 14 members, five leaders and one agent in attendance. Since this was their buddy meeting, members brought a younger 4-Her to learn about the duties of a 4-H Council member and enjoyed a yummy walking taco meal.
For the community service project this year, the council asked the 4-H Clubs to collect aluminum cans for the Kansas Honor Flight for Greenwood County. The cans were turned in at this meeting with the Madison Pacesetters 4-H Club collecting the most cans and winning a pizza party to celebrate.
A representative from each 4-H club reported on the many activities they have accomplished since the last council meeting.
For new business, decisions were made concerning the fair building watch, fair movie and dance, livestock buyer’s meal as well as fair t-shirts for council members who are helping work activities at the fair.
In announcements, committees were asked to finalize their plans for the year.
The next council meeting will be held July 15 at 7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds following cleanup at 6 p.m.
