Last Thursday, May 23, Eureka resident Tammi Burtin was recognized as “Community Member of the Month” for her continued efforts in serving the community through multiple groups and organizations.
Burtin is the third recipient of the “Community Member of the Month” honor for 2024 and will now be eligible for “Community Member of the Year,” which will be voted on by community residents in December 2024 and January 2025. She will join Isaac Boone (March recipient) and Ariel Treece (April recipient) on the ballot.
Burtin has served the community through various groups and organizations for decades. She began her service to the community by becoming a Girl Scout Leader. Something she continues to do today, decades later. Burtin is currently serving as President of the Greenwood County Hospital Foundation, Secretary of the Babson Foundation, Treasurer of the Eureka Area Business Women’s Club and is a member of the Eureka Honors Club.
How To Nominate
To nominate a “Community Member of the Month” simply send a letter with your name, the person’s name you are nominating and why you are nominating them for the honor. (Those wishing to remain anonymous can do so; but, the committee asks that your name and contact information be included in case committee members need additional information.) Letters should be sent to The Eureka Herald, PO Box 590, Eureka, KS 67045 or emailed to Robin Wunderlich at news@ eurekaherald. com. Forms are also available at The Eureka Herald, LoMar Drive-in and the City of Eureka water office.
The committee is asking that nominations be submitted prior to the 15th day of the month. Committee members will then review the nominations and select the recipient.
