U.S. 54 Bridge Replacement To Start In Early June

The week of June 3, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) expects to start a project to replace the Burnt Creek bridge on U.S. 54 in Greenwood County. The bridge is 3.5 miles east of the Butler County line.

The week of June 3, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) expects to start a project to replace the Burnt Creek bridge on U.S. 54 in Greenwood County. The bridge is 3.5 miles east of the Butler County line.

Two-way traffic will be placed on a temporary road around the work zone. A reduced speed limit will be in effect. The new bridge should be open by early 2025, weather permitting.

KDOT awarded the construction contract of $2.4 million to B & B Bridge Company LLC, St. Paul, Kansas. Check KDOT’s updated traveler information website, www.kandrive.gov, for more highway condition and construction details.
