Eureka freshman Mason Hughes just made the cut last Tuesday, May 14, when he was the fifth individual to qualify for the 2A State Tournament this week.
A total of 37 golfers hit the links at Eureka Country Club, with an average score of 109.8. Those advancing to state ranged in score from 88-100.
Hughes finished the round with a 100 (45/55). Also competing for the Tornadoes were seniors Cole Adkins 111 (52/59), Wylee Boulanger 111 (54/57) and Lyle Perrier 118 (66/52) and freshman Easton Mead 117 (56/61).
Hughes traveled to the Class 2A State Golf Tournament at Mariah Hills Golf Course, in Dodge City on Monday of this week. The top six teams and the next 18 individuals (not on a qualifying team) plus ties advanced to compete on Tuesday, May 21.
