Volunteers Needed For Memorial Day Services

Services to honor the thousands of men and women who have defended the United States in war and peace will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka on Monday, May 27, Memorial Day. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following events: On Saturday, May 25, small flags will be placed on grave markers at Greenwood Cemetery. Volunteers should meet at the cemetery at 9 a.m.

Services to honor the thousands of men and women who have defended the United States in war and peace will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka on Monday, May 27, Memorial Day. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following events: On Saturday, May 25, small flags will be placed on grave markers at Greenwood Cemetery. Volunteers should meet at the cemetery at 9 a.m.

Members of the local veterans organizations and volunteers will meet Sunday, May 26, at 5 p.m. at the cemetery. The group will set the poles for the “Avenue of Flags.” The flags and poles will be removed at 5 p.m. on Monday, Memorial Day.

Monday, Memorial Day, May 27 at 6 a.m., breakfast will be served at VFW Post 2712 to the volunteers and workers. At 7 a.m., the flags will be raised at Greenwood Cemetery and at 10:30 a.m., a memorial service is scheduled at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, on the north side of the cemetery.
