Tornado Softball Fell In Play-In Game

Eureka softball traveled to Lyndon last Monday, May 13 for a play-in game in the Lyndon Regional. The Lady Tornadoes collected four hits against Southern Lyon County, but were only able to get two runs across the plate and fell 2-15 to conclude their season.

Eureka softball traveled to Lyndon last Monday, May 13 for a play-in game in the Lyndon Regional. The Lady Tornadoes collected four hits against Southern Lyon County, but were only able to get two runs across the plate and fell 2-15 to conclude their season.

Tornado softball con-cluded the season with an overall record of 4-15.

Eureka scored on an error in the first. The Tornadoes retained the lead until the third. Southern Lyon County would score 1 in the third, 4 in the fourth, 6 in the fifth and 4 in the sixth, with the Tornadoes adding another single in the fifth.

Collecting singles for Eureka were Elle Coulter x2 and Trinity Samuels and Miley Baumgartel each recording one. Scoring for the Tornadoes were Samuels and Coulter.

“The girls did improve this season and look forward to keep the progress going this off season,” stated Eureka head coach Scott Miller. “We really had some girls step up as leaders this season. With nine girls lettering for softball for the first time, it shows that a lot of girls got their first experience with Varsity softball and they learned a lot,” he concluded.
