K-State Alumni Club, Catbackers Award Scholarships To Students In Emporia Area

MANHATTAN – Eight area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $5,200. The scholarships were awarded by the Flint Hills Catbackers, the Col. Gayle Foster Endowed Scholarship Fund and the K-State Alumni Association.

MANHATTAN – Eight area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $5,200. The scholarships were awarded by the Flint Hills Catbackers, the Col. Gayle Foster Endowed Scholarship Fund and the K-State Alumni Association.

The recipients are Tucker Groh, Cottonwood Falls; Natalie Denton, Addison Marshall, Lilly Parks and Alexa Shivley, Emporia; Lyle Perrier, Eureka; Rhilee Scott, Olpe; and Zane Orender, Osage City.

“We are so pleased to congratulate these outstanding students,” said Alan Fankhauser, associate director of alumni programs for the K-State Alumni Association. “The Alumni Association board of directors is committed to helping prospective students attend K-State. We greatly appreciate local alumni and friends who have helped make these awards possible through their loyal support.”

There are approximately 2,600 K-State alumni and friends in the Emporia area.

The scholarships are for the 2024-25 academic year. The Alumni Association annually awards more than $650,000 in student scholarships with funding provided by local K-State alumni and friends and Alumni Association programming.
