These past few days have been amazing! Warm enough to not need the heater and cool enough to not need the AC. Can it be any better than that?

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to all who lost loved ones this past week. May they rest in peace.

By the time you all are reading this, I will have had surgery on my right shoulder to repair a tendon that was cut by bone fragments, remove bone fragments, repair my rotator cuff and do something to my scapula. It is outpatient surgery and I’m hoping for a swift recovery.

We are still looking for eligible students who would like to join the Toronto Alumni. Contact Sharri Fuller or myself if you know someone or have questions about the eligibility! It’s coming up October 7.

Lots of fall activities are coming up. What are your favorite things to do in the fall? I like to take a drive along the back country roads and enjoy the beautiful colors of fall, drinking hot chocolate, cozying up under a light blanket, and football. NFL football is back!

Usually the fall television shows kick off about now, but don’t know what we will be stuck with as replacements for our favorite shows, what with the writers strike. Guess we’ll soon find out!

The Toronto Booster Club has started their new year. New officers were elected to replace Rick Tyner, Fuller and Keila Sherman who have served the community as Booster club officers the last couple of years. The new officers are: Jessie Hoag - President; Bridget Combs - Vice President; Katie Sherman Secretary; and Jerri Adams - Treasurer.

The next meeting will be October 4, at 6 p.m. There will be a short meeting then they’ll decorate Main Street for fall! Bring your $5 for dues, and help make Toronto festive for the changing seasons!

Don’t forget, this Sunday is the 150th Anniversary/ Birthday of the Toronto United Methodist Church. There will be a very brief service with focus on the church and it’s many years serving the community.

The Church will be open at 2 p.m. with a small reception honoring this accomplishment. Everyone is invited to attend.

Many yards around town are looking pretty with the mums and other fall flowers that have been set out!
