Rockin’ Robin!

How often do we allow the negative things around us to overcome us? For me personally, this is something that will consume me and will have negative impacts on other tasks. It seems to have a domino effect and even though I can see it happening, I’m not always able to stop it.

How often do we allow the negative things around us to overcome us? For me personally, this is something that will consume me and will have negative impacts on other tasks. It seems to have a domino effect and even though I can see it happening, I’m not always able to stop it.

I get defeated quickly. Especially, when it is due to people being “uninformed.” However, I have come to the realization that I can’t let others’ choices impact my attitude. If I fail to get the information to them, then I simply need to figure out how to do better and strive for that for future days. But, if I have gathered and shared those details, I can’t let others’ decisions to not seek the information impact me.

I have always been a big fan of Maya Angelou and last week was able to listen to a speech from another former Eureka graduate who also referenced her great words. During her speech, Kathleen McKenzie shared the following quote, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” This can be used every day. There will always be something that we aren’t passionate about; but, it may be something we have to overcome to reach our goals. Are you going to be negative about it? If so, what is the probability that you will have a positive outcome? Not high, is it?

We all have the choice. And, although we all will have bad days, we can work to overcome the bad times by seeking positive direction. It may require self reflection and force changes to be made in daily living, but, isn’t it time that we take care of ourselves and make the best of each day?

Robin Wunderlich Quote of the Week

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” ~ Maya Angelou
