The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating circumstances behind an incident that resulted in the death of a 66-year-old Derby man.
According to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, along with Greenwood County EMS, were dispatched to the 500 block of Badger Creek Road, near Fall River Lake, at approximately 5:27 p.m. for the report of a white male with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Deputies located Floyd Zollinger, 66, of Derby laying on the side of the road with a gunshot wound. Zollinger was transported to Fredonia Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. There is no threat or danger. This case remains under investigation.
