Several Tornadoes Claimed Hardware At Fredonia Invitational

Several members of the Eureka Tornado track and field team claimed hardware last Thursday, April 18, at the Fredonia Invitational. Eureka claimed five first place finishes, four second place finishes and one third place finish.

100 Meter Dash: Olivia Valentine, 4th, 13.77; Alicia Sanchez, 28th, 15.21. 200 Meter Dash: O. Valentine, 5th, 29.78; Sanchez, 24th, 34.35. 800 Meter Run: Rose Buck, 1st, 2:26.41; Britta Mongeau, 7th, 2:47.28.

The Eureka Tornadoes will travel to Madison on Friday, April 26, at 3 p.m., before competing at Humboldt on May 2, at 10 a.m.

Eureka will host 2A Regional action on Thursday, May 16. Field events will begin at 2 p.m., with prelims beginning at 4:30 p.m. Finals will begin 30 minutes after prelims conclude. Schools attending the Eureka regional include: Belle Plaine, Conway Springs, Elbing-Berean Academy; Eureka, Garden Plain, Herington, Hillsboro, Hutchinson-Trinity Catholic, Inman, Marion, Moundridge, Sedgwick, Sterling, Whitewater-Remington, Wichita-Classical School Of Wichita and Wichita-The Independent. Other 2A Regionals will be held in Erie, Hill City and Winchester-Jefferson County. State for all classes will be held at Wichita State University-Cessna Stadium on May 24-25.
