WELCA met April 4 at the Christ Lutheran Church Bell Tower Room, with Joni Booth presiding.
Grace Stacey gave devotions from II Kings, “Bring me a Musician.”
Roll call was answered by five members, reciting a Bible verse.
Sue Erickson, secretary, read the minutes of March 7. Margaret Spires gave the treasurer’s report.
Communications included ‘thank yous’ for donations, and information on The Baby’s Closet in Emporia, who provide needed essentials to families of new born babies to five-year-old children.
Old business included a good turn-out report for Good Friday services hosted by CLC and Easter services.
Erickson gave the program. First the group read Exodus 20:7-17, God’s 10 Commandments. The 10 Commandments of Joy was studied, including no worry, anger, joy, laughter, prayer, little children, opportunities. Coordinating Bible verses were read.
The May 2 meeting will be devotions by Booth, program by Spires and Erickson providing dessert.
The meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer in unison.
Members enjoyed dessert by Camille Frakes with Coffee.
