The Hamilton City Library invites the public to join their book club. This is the first year, other than last year’s book reading and discussion of “Killers of the Flower Moon,” that the Hamilton City Library patrons have read books for one month and discussed the books on the first Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. Those wishing to join are asked to let the library know and participate with the group.

Hamilton City Library has an eventful calendar for April 2024.

On Friday, April 12 at 11:30 p.m. there will be story time with Pre-K and Elementary children. April is poetry month, so poems will be read and written. There will be all kinds of rhyming that morning. Snacks will be provided.

Please join us at the library on Friday, April 19 at 2 p.m. while the Greenwood County Historical Society presents “The History of Hamilton Schools.” Gib Rhodes, Linda Sobieski and John Bills with the Greenwood County Historical Society will be showing a PowerPoint and a video from the 1930s which tells the story of Hamilton USD 390 starting with the Ott Schoolhouse in 1878. Come and learn about the one-room schools and the unification process of the District Schools to the present time. Also, members of the public are asked to share pictures or information about this first schoolhouse. Refreshments will be served.

Sheriff Heath Samuels will be at the Hamilton City Library on Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m. to show a Power Point with information about “Scams, Hacks and Cloning” and learn how to defend against these possible threats. Refreshments will be served.

While at the library this month, sign up for a library card to check out some of the books, DVDs and/or use the computers. Ask about Hoopla or a State Library Card. The Hamilton City Library is open, Tuesday-Thursday, 2-4 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m.6 p.m. and Saturday, 9-11 a.m. They are closed on Mondays.
