Eureka Tornado Baseball And Softball Fell To Cubs/Bluestreaks

Eureka’s baseball and softball were struck with several errors last week as they took on the Cubs of Humboldt and Bluestreaks of Neodesha. Both teams went 0-4 last week.

SOFTBALL

Tornado softball was shutdown by Humboldt on Tuesday, April 9, as Eureka lost 0-11 and 0-15. The Lady Tornadoes claimed two hits for the night. Lady Tornado Trinity Samuels recorded a hit in the first game and Madeline Miller hit a double in the second.

On Thursday, April 11, the Tornadoes traveled to Neodesha. Eureka gave up 14 runs in the opening inning and four more in the second before adding 8 of in the third. However, Neodesha answered with 8 of their own in the fourth and Eureka fell 8-26. The Tornadoes recorded two hits for the game with singles by Samuels and Elle Coulter. Scoring for Eureka were Coulter, Samuels, Keira Crisswell, Cheyenne Gardner, Elyssa Wood, Miley Baumgartel and Taryn Burk.

In game two, Eureka had five girls claim hits as they tallied seven for the game, but the Tornadoes weren’t able to take advantage of their at bats and fell 3-13. Those claiming singles were Crisswell, Raylee Boles, Samuels x2, Gardner and Miller x2. All three runs were scored by Samuels.

BASEBALL

Eureka tallied five hits and one run last week, against the Cubs and Bluestreaks. Against Humboldt, Eureka lost 0-14 and 0-16. Jean Phillipe Guilliame and Carl Biering each recorded a hit.

On Thursday, Eureka baseball fell to the Bluestreaks 0-11 and 1-16. Tornado Dalton Pool recorded hits in both games and Guilliame recorded a hit in the second game.

Up Next

Tornado baseball and softball will host Central of Burden on Thursday, April 18 before traveling to Cherryvale on April 26. The Tornadoes will return home on April 29 to take on Erie. Game time, for all three dates, is slated for 4:30 p.m.
