JH Tornado Track Competed At Fredonia

Eureka Junior High track competed in the Fredonia Invitational on Tuesday, April 9. Multiple athletes claimed hardware and one walked away with a new school record.

Eureka Junior High track competed in the Fredonia Invitational on Tuesday, April 9. Multiple athletes claimed hardware and one walked away with a new school record.

Medals were awarded to the following: 7th Grade Girls: scored 29 points taking 6th place out of 8 teams: Winnie Brenckman: 3rd place in the 400 M Run with a time of 1:14.16. McKenna McDonald 1st place in the High Jump with a jump of 4’8”.

8th Grade Girls: scored 26 points taking 6th place out of 8 teams: Arabella Shepherd 1st place in Shot Put with a throw of 29’ 4.5”. 4x100 Meter Relay 3rd place with a time of 1:01.10 consisting of Sydney Lindamood, Eileen Baxter, Novah Ogden and Rose Owens; 4x200 Meter Relay 3rd place with a time of 2:12.56 consisting of Lindamood, Jersey Cox, Owens and Baxter.

7th Grade Boys: scored 30 points taking 6th place out of 8 teams: Tavin Austin 1st place in the 3200M Run. Maddox Hughes 2nd place in the Pole Vault with a jump of 7’ 0”. 4x100 Meter Relay 2nd place with a time of 59.42 consisting of Tate Scott, Cohen Marks, Dylan Conard and Hughes.

8th Grade Boys: scored 21 points taking 8th place out of 8 teams: Will Morris 1st place in the 3200M Run. Jameson Stewart: 3rd place in Discus with a throw of 121’ 48”. This Throw beats the current school record of 87’ 9” held by Stewart from the Eureka Classic Meet.

The junior high track and field team will travel to Neodesha on Monday, April 22, at 3:45 p.m. before hosting on April 25.
