On Monday, March 25, the Severy City Council held two special meetings, where the city council approved to establish Severy Municipal Court.

During the first meeting, the council adopted draft Ordinance 441, which provides for the establishment of a municipal court, and adopted draft Charter Ordinance 8, which is an ordinance exempting the city from certain provisions relating to imposition and collection of municipal court costs and compensation of judges. A copy of the ordinance can be found on page 8 of this week’s edition of The Eureka Herald.

The council adjourned the special meeting and then opened a second special meeting for non-elected personnel matters. The council held two executive sessions for the subject of non-elected personnel, totaling 40 minutes. No action was taken and the meeting adjourned.

The Severy City Council meets routinely on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
