Community members were able to celebrate the Easter holiday together with various events.

Festivities began with “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny,” hosted by the Kind Like Kenlee Memorial (KLKM), at Eureka Junior/Senior High School.

The event included several chance drawings, with the following winners being announced: Extra large Blue Peeps Bunny donated by KLKM, Milo Dennis; Large Pink Bunny Squishmallow donated by KLKM, Natalie Pennington; Flower Plants donated by Eureka Garden & Floral, Pink Hyacinth: Jordon Foth; White Tulip: Trinity Samuels; Purple Hyacinth: Ashley Osborne; Pink Tulip: Larissa Wells; MAMA shirt donated by Charlene Baker with Picket Fence Designs, DaQota Williams; Tornadoes shirt donated by Charlene Baker with Picket Fence Designs, Janice Brown; Scentsy Packs donated by Charlene Baker, Kris Olson & Janice Brown; Pokémon Gift Basket donated by KLKM, Lathan Wallace; Play-Doh gift basket donated by KLKM, Henry Duerksen; Ride to school in a firetruck, Trayce Wells; Ride to school with Sheriff Heath Samuels, Lawson Barnard; Red “Be Kind” Youth Hoodie donated by KLKM, Tyler Wells.

Eureka Honors Club Community Easter Egg Hunt The annual Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by the Eureka Honors Club, with the cooperation of area businesses and individuals, was held this past Saturday, at 11 a.m. The four individual hunts took only a few minutes each, as the children quickly gathered plastic eggs, prize eggs, candy and other goodies.

Youngsters in the 1 through 3 age division went first in their designated area with ages 4 through Kindergarten; first, second and third graders and the fourth, fifth and sixth graders following in other areas.

There was one egg worth $10 in each area (sponsored by Downing’s Inc.), along with 40 $5 eggs and three “prize” eggs. In addition, there were 3,000 plastic eggs each worth 10 cents.

Those finding special prize eggs, included: Alison Hogan, Dezmond Stewart, Adelynn Marks, Brynlee Ashlock, Katie Boardman, Bash Foth, Ashlyn Reuber, Princeton Craig, Benton Barnard, Brylee Bonne, Paislee Morris, Bella Damron and Emma Henley.

Those finding the $10 eggs included: Tamsin Moore, Carson Eismann and Cooper Wunderlich.

Those finding $5 eggs included: Emmy Lou Hays, Noah Sandborn, Collin x2, Jaxon White, Lawson Barnard x2, Vivian Oelke x2, Kendall Gore, Hudson Dean, Kipton Ramsey, Easton Morton, Adleigh Ray, Tatum Boor, Ike Whitehead, Tyrel Wells, Brylee Boone, Emmy Boone, Wyatt Shaw, Audrey Wallace, Cheyenne Stapleford, Mela Watts, Liam Mead, Bentlee Chastain and Tanner Wade.

Eureka Nursing Center Community Easter Egg Hunt The Eureka Nursing Center also held a special hunt last Saturday, at 2 p.m. Those finding the golden ticket eggs were: Edwin Hogan, ages 0-3; Veronica Meier, ages 4-6; Brianna Miller, ages 7-9; and Cooper Wunderlich, ages 10-12.

About The Eureka Honors Club The Eureka Honors Club was organized in the fall of 2015, following the disbandment of the Kiwanis Club of Eureka.

The Eureka Honors Club hosts a community Easter egg hunt, the annual honors banquet as well as creating the community birthday calendars.
