Last Tuesday, March 26, Eureka resident Isaac Boone was recognized as “Community Member of the Month” for his continued efforts in serving the community.
Boone is the first recipient of the “Community Member of the Month” honor for 2024 and will now be eligible for “Community Member of the Year,” which will be voted on by community residents in December 2024 and January 2025.
Boone, who serves the community as a pharmacist at Eureka Pharmacy and Greenwood County Hospital, is active in the community through various organization. He currently serves as President of the Eureka Foundation, serves on the Eureka Recreation Commission and volunteers as a coach for recreation activities. In the nomination, the nominator (who wished to remain anonymous) stated, “Isaac has demonstrated a heart of service that deserves to be acknowledged and applauded. He is an example of how personal and professional accomplishment can benefit the community around him. He has proven himself to be a role model to the younger generations he has donated his time to teaching and coaching.”

To nominate a “Community Member of the Month” simply send a letter with your name, the person’s name you are nominating and why you are nominating them for the honor. (Those wishing to remain anonymous can do so; but, the committee asks that your name and contact information be included in case committee members need additional information.) Letters should be sent to The Eureka Herald, PO Box 590, Eureka, KS 67045 or emailed to Wunderlich at news@eurekaherald. com. Forms are also available at The Eureka Herald, LoMar Drive-in and the City of Eureka water office.
The committee is asking that nominations be submitted prior to the 15th day of the month. Committee members will then review the nominations and select the recipient.
