Eureka Garden Club

The Eureka Garden Club met Friday, March 1 at the TNT Catering building in Eureka for lunch. Vice President Ann Coon called the meeting to order after lunch. Coon expressed appreciation to Carol Ann Flock for serving as hostess.

The Eureka Garden Club met Friday, March 1 at the TNT Catering building in Eureka for lunch. Vice President Ann Coon called the meeting to order after lunch. Coon expressed appreciation to Carol Ann Flock for serving as hostess.

Eleven active members and two associate members answered roll call. Kathy Jackson was a guest of Patricia Soule. The minutes were approved as read. P.J. Pitko moved to accept the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded and carried.

The Mini Garden committee report was given by Coon who had the watering schedule. The Elementary School Garden Club members will help clean up the garden in October.

Under old business, The members were given the correct post office box for new member Cammie Wilson.

In new business, Flock moved for a unanimous ballot to be cast for the slate of officers. Marilyn Seymour seconded the motion which carried. The new officers to serve for two years are: President – Vicki Lindsey; Vice President – Rise Russin; Secretary – Sheila Hughes; and Treasurer – Sue McDonald.

Flock gave the Program, “Plants that repel Pests.” Besides giving beauty to our gardens, plants can also help repel many unwanted pests.

Loria Howard moved the meeting be adjourned.

Coon and Marilyn Cathey were door prize winners of potted pansies.

The next meeting will be Friday, April 5 at the Eureka Country Club. Lindsey and McDonald will serve as hostesses.

The members stood and repeated the Gardener’s Creed before dismissing.
