Two Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) members claimed plaques from the USAWKS 2024 State Folkstyle Championships over the weekend, as both finished in the top six of their weight classes.
EWC’s Brynlee Ashlock placed fifth and Mason Hughes claimed sixth place honors.
Following are the results for EWC participants: HS Girls 170: Harlie Owings won a 6-0 decision over Braelyn Morris (Bonner Springs Wrestling Club).
HS Boys 100: Mason Hughes placed 6th. He won by fall over Trapper Boren (Iola ) (Fall 4:05) 2x2.5=$32.50
10U Girls 60: Brynlee Ashlock placed 5th. She won by fall over Kaylynn Dole (Norton) (Fall 1:58); won a 9-1 major decision over Rosalie Landrum (El Dorado); won by forfeit over Nyliah Dinkel (Russell); and won a 7-4 decision over Kenzli Mason (Central Heights Viking Wrestling Club).
12U Girls 140: Lakyn McCoy won by fall over Miya Wilson (Bulldog) (Fall 3:32).
12U Boys 115: Tate Scott won by fall over Jaxson Sweat (Abilene) (Fall 1:52). Also representing EWC was Maela Neill, HS Girls 125.
