Received Post Season Honors

Four Eureka Tornadoes received special honors over the weekend as the Tri-Valley League (TVL) announced special teams.

Four Eureka Tornadoes received special honors over the weekend as the Tri-Valley League (TVL) announced special teams.

Lady Tornadoes Brenna Rucker and Laynie Winfrey were named to the TVL 1st Team and Britta Mongeau was named to the TVL Honorable Mention team. For the boys, Tornado Lyle Perrier was named to the TVL 2nd Team.

Rucker, a sophomore, averaged 16.7 points,7.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.6 steals, per game.

Winfrey, a junior, averaged 13 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3 steals, per game.

Mongeau, a sophomore, averaged 7.2 points, 2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and .8 steals, per game.

Perrier, a senior, was named to the TVL 2nd Team. Perrier averaged 10 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks, per game. “The best attribute is he is a leader on and off the court,” stated Eureka boys head coach Al Brown.

Area girls also being named to the special teams included: 1st Team, Prayer Roebuck, Neodesha; Bethany Umbarter, Cherryvale and Anna Washburn, Cherryvale; 2nd Team, Kimmy Combs, Neodesha; Holli Emmons and Tinley Lovesee, Bluestem; Jailee Reister, Cherryvale and Zoey Sims, Fredonia; Honorable Mention, Kadynce Forman, Cherryvale; Kenisyn Hottenstein and Shelby Shaughnessy, Humboldt and Alex Pasquarelli, Erie.

Area boys also being named to the special teams included: 1st Team, Colden Cook and Sam Hull, Humboldt; Ethan Dillinger and Reid Duff, Erie; Colt Hightowner, Caney Valley; 2nd Team, Elia Barnett and Ashton O’Neal, Fredonia; Malachi Jimenez, Bluestem and Talon Roebuck, Neodoesha; Honorable Mention: Kamden Barnett, Fredonia; Blake Ellis and Asher Hart, Humboldt; Carsen Ellis, Cherryvale and Krewe Johnson, Neodesha.
