In this digital age, you would think that it should be easy to keep track of when things are going to be or anything you need to remember. Phones and tablets have calendars that you can enter your info on a desired date and t h e n get a reminder when it comes around.

In this digital age, you would think that it should be easy to keep track of when things are going to be or anything you need to remember. Phones and tablets have calendars that you can enter your info on a desired date and t h e n get a reminder when it comes around.

I still write on the calendar hanging on the wall or write on the back of an envelope. I usually throw away the envelope or forget where I placed it. If I do happen to put it in my calendar on my phone, my ringer is off when I am at home so I miss the event.

I’m not sure all this technology is a good thing?! In all fairness, I can’t blame it all on technology when I can’t even keep track of a piece of paper.

Question: Approximately how many social security numbers have been issued since the first one was assigned in 1936? While out in my yard Sunday, I noticed that I have four different colors of crocus: yellow, purple, white/purple variegated and white ones! They all looked so pretty. I just love these flowers that come out on their own and require no work.

Flowers are popping up all over town. Our world is waking up. Now is a great time for backyard fire pits, but before you light one check to see if your area is in a burn ban or not. The same goes for burning leaves, brush and pastures!

With the strong winds and even stronger gusts, a fire can get away so quick. So take every precaution before burning.

We offer our sympathy to the families of Bill Colin and Rich Maynard who passed away this past week. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace. This is a busy week for many with Spring Break, Legos and Story Times at the Library, Pi day is Thursday, St. Patrick’s Potato Bar at the Gym Friday night, game nights at a couple places in town and beautiful weather to get out and enjoy.

Rain is predicted for part of the week but hey, it is spring. Even though it doesn’t officially begin until next Tuesday the 19th.

I hope everyone who reads this is a registered voter. If you’re not or unsure, now’s the time to check with the County Clerk and see if you are. The election coming up is a very important one and will affect us for the next 4-6 years, so get registered and then remember to vote!
