Toronto News -

March is here, but the way the weather has been, I don’t know if you consider it came in like a lamb or lion! Whatever you call it, it is a busy month, with Easter, spring break, gardening, St. Patrick’s Day, Palm Sunday, the first day of Spring on the 19th, and March Madness for all you basketball fans!

This Sunday we “Spring Forward” as Daylight saving time begins Sunday morning at 2 a.m., so set your clocks ahead Saturday night or you’ll be late for church.

What does “perfidious” mean?

The Toronto Library is having special programs all next week for spring break along with “Spring Story Hour” reading programs on March 9, 12 and 14. Saturday begins at 10 a.m. and the other two days at 11 a.m. This Friday, March 8 will be “Lego Day” as there is no school for Yates Center kids.

On Friday, March 15, the Toronto United Methodist Church will be hosting their annual St. Patrick’s Day potato bar at the gym starting at 5 p.m. This is always a good time. Getting to visit with friends, make new friends and enjoy a baked potato loaded with toppings as well as a delicious dessert.

Answer: Treacherous. A reminder to all Toronto Alumni Members, there will be no Alumni Banquet Easter weekend as it has been changed to the first Saturday in October!

All you gardeners are busy. Your onions should already be in the ground and you should be getting the soil ready for planting your potatoes. I’ve never planted potatoes myself, but I have always wondered, does it really work to plant your potatoes in a bale of straw or in an old tire?

My guess is those methods don’t work or you’d see them being used more often.

I love this time of year. Everything is coming back to life. Trees are leafing out, flowers are starting to bloom and all the different grasses are turning green. I hate this time of year for all the same reasons. All the allergens in the air. All of you with allergies understand what I’m saying.
