After a busy week at the fair, the Madison Pacesetter 4-H Club held their August monthly meeting at the Greenwood County Fairgrounds. Members were asked what their favorite part of the fair was. Secretary Makenna Engle reported that 32 members, three cloverbuds and two leaders were present.

In the council report, it was noted that at the last council meeting, fair committees shared their progress and new fair rules and procedures were discussed.

Darcy Henke gave the club an update over the Fair Concession Stand fundraiser. She reported that the stand went smooth, but sales were down this year. Sarah Luthi also shared the outcome of another club fundraiser: the annual hog roast. Luthi announced that the hog roast also went really smoothly and had a great turnout.

In the Leader’s report, Ty Gaines congratulated all the members on their success at the fair as well as recognized Luke Fankhauser for being a retiring senior. Gaines also recognized and showed gratitude for the generous grant that the club received from the America’s Farmers Grow Communities Donation, Bayer Fund program. Finally, Gaines reminded the club to thank their booster club donors and invite them to the Madison Pacesetter’s Appreciation Supper, which was slated for Wednesday, September 6.
