Tornado Boys Basketball Concluded Season

The Eureka High School boys finished their season with a 2273 loss at Lyndon. This was the first round of sub-state and the Tornadoes drew the number one seeded Tigers, who are also ranked first in state. Eureka shot 19% for the game, including a 1 for 9 first quarter and a 0 for 10 third quarter. The first quarter shooting created an early deficit from which the Tornadoes were never able to recover. Any hope the Tornadoes might have had after halftime was crushed by the third quarter shooting performance.

The Tornadoes ended the season with only four wins, but showed improvement throughout the season. The one flaw they could never overcome was their poor shooting.

Defense and ball-handling got better every game but just wasn’t enough to get them over the hump.

Senior Lyle Perrier led the Tornadoes in scoring with 11 points, while senior Jace Nixon had 4. Junior Laken Valentine added three, and senior Cole Adkins and sophomore Cole Ptacek chipped in two each.

The young Tornadoes say goodbye to their three seniors, but return multiple players who had significant varsity minutes.
