Colangelo Named Business Woman Of The Month

The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, September 5 at BC Art Studio in Eureka. There were 14 members and one guest present. The guest was Barbara Colangelo, who was the businesswoman of the month and provided the program for the evening.

Roll call was answered by, “A building on Main Street that you remember that is no longer there.”

The minutes of the May meeting were given and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given and approved as read.

Correspondence was read. Tammi Burtin read Thank You notes from Kate Coulter, Rylee Shepherd and Rebecca Jones, thanking the club for the scholarships they received.

Committees for Cards and Flowers and Scholarships were assigned. The card and flower committee will consist of Burtin and Mary Ann Thornton. The scholarship committee will consist of Tami Jackson, Diana Cole and Stacy Randle.

Announcements were made. Melissa Barkus spoke about the cards that her mother makes and shared that she would get some for the club if there was interest. Barkus also requested that the club start thinking about the Christmas Wellspring for Greenwood County. Kacey Countryman spoke about the Eureka Community Food Bank. She reported that the shelves were getting low. To drop items off, contact Ava Jones. They provide services on the first and second Mondays of every month from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Business woman of the month, Colangelo, was presented with a certificate. She is currently owner and operator of BC Art Studio. She and husband Greg have three children, two sons and one daughter, one daughter-in-law and one grandson.

Colangelo presented the program, speaking about different artwork created at the studio. She explained the process of making pottery and painting. She had many art pieces available and on display. Parties can be booked to experience the artwork.

There were no September birthdays.

Hostesses for the evening were Lois Stewart, Burtin, Audra Hemingway, Colangelo and TNT Catering. The meal was catered by TNT Catering.

The club closed with Club Collect.
