Eureka Area Food Pantry Seeking Donations

A local food pantry is seeking assistance from the community as the Eureka Area Food Pantry, sponsored by the Eureka Area Ministerial Alliance, is running low on food, again. The organization was low prior to Christmas but an $800 anonymous donation was made that stocked the shelves. Several other area organizations and churches followed suit and the shelves were full.

In the past two months, the Eureka Area Food Pantry has been able to help record numbers and just this month have helped 76 individuals.

“We are very grateful for those that have donated to this cause,” stated Marva Lee Purkeypile. “The support is very much appreciated,” she continued.

Those wishing to donate can do so by contacting Richard Jones at 620-953-2056 or Pastor Francois Erasmus at 831524-4465, to schedule an appointment.

The Eureka Area Food Pantry hosts distributions on the first and second Mondays of each month from 12-2 p.m., behind the Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 1710 E. River Street. The distribution is held in the facility north of the church.
