In officer reports, Ashley Cox reported current financials with no outstanding checks at this time.

LeAnne Winn reported on Christmas on Main Street. The weather that day turned out to be perfect and yielded a huge turnout for the event. The festive colored popcorn continued to be a hit and was all gone by the end of the night. Santa was a big hit for all the children. New decorations being added each year makes the courthouse lawn look so pretty for the holiday season. This year new garland was purchased for the gazebo. There was some discussion about purchasing more lights for next year due to some being thrown out for not working anymore. Overall, it was a successful night and enjoyment was had from students, parents, and Marshall Faculty.

Cox reported on honor roll for the last nine weeks. One hundred and seven kids made the Honor Roll

and were recognized at the honor roll breakfast on Jan. 10. The kids were awarded cherry limeades from Sonic and cookies from G&W Foods. The next honor roll breakfast is scheduled for March 20.

Parent Teacher conferences are fast approaching and discussion was brought up by Whitehead for options regarding the conference dinner to be provided for teachers. PTA members present agreed to have the dinner on March 19, with approval from Principal Coulter.

The next big event sponsored by PTA is the Annual Spring Fling Dance, which will be held on April 13. The event will be from 6-8 p.m. Those in attendance, at 6 p.m. will be able to begin dancing or join in the promenade if they choose. Discussion was had to secure a DJ for the event and Heidi Boone is working on this. Refreshments will be served and it was discussed to continue with the cookies from G&W Foods with lemonade and water as in previous years. PTA members decided to not have presales for this event and to sell tickets at the door. Pricing was also agreed upon and will be $20 for two people or $25 for three or more people. With PTA utilizing the Prom decorations, PTA gives 20% of profit made to the Prom Committee at the High School. This contract is set to expire next year and will be revisited prior to that time.

In new business, PTA discussed ideas for a Spring Fundraiser. Currently, there are no grant requests at this time as reported by Coulter. However, she did bring up that Mrs. Neill would like to add some more bulletin boards in the hallway outside the Art Room. Pricing is being looked at for this and will be available at the next meeting.

The next meeting for PTA will be April 23, in the Art Room at Marshall Elementary. All are encouraged to attend. The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m. by Whitehead.
