Competed At Girls State Tournament

For the first time in school history, the West Elk Patriots were represented at the 4-1A Girls State Wrestling tournament. Patriot Senior Kayla Wright battled her way at the state tournament last week in Salina. She went 1-2 at the tournament and concluded her senior sea-son with a 22-9 overall record.

For the first time in school history, the West Elk Patriots were represented at the 4-1A Girls State Wrestling tournament. Patriot Senior Kayla Wright battled her way at the state tournament last week in Salina. She went 1-2 at the tournament and concluded her senior sea-son with a 22-9 overall record.

Wright lost by fall to Gabrielle Koppes (Clay Center Community HS) 36-0 (Fall 0:41) won by fall over Kaysha Florence (Santa Fe Trail HS) 22-12 (Fall 3:57); and lost by fall to Zoey Kessler (Cherryvale) 37-5 (Fall 4:07).
