Over 100 family members and friends gathered at Koop’s Auto Supply in Howard on Friday, September 1 to celebrate Bill Lanning’s 50 years of service to the Howard Community.

What began as a twoweek job filling in for Adron Hebb in 1973, former owner of Hebb’s Auto Supply, has turned into a long-time vocation for Lanning. Bill continued to work for Hebb for the next 12 years, five as manager, until purchasing the business in June of 1985 and owned it with his wife, Patsy, for 35 years before selling it to Eldon and Doreen Koop in October 2020. Lanning continues to work for the Koops as a Parts Man.

Lanning was honored by the community and the Koops with a barbeque luncheon right on the corner of Wabash and Adams Streets in Howard where it all began. Lanning was grateful for all the people who attended and thanks everyone for their loyalty and friendship.
