Co-President Sheri Hall conducted the business meeting. The program was a combination of the January “Tribute to Elvis” program and February program “Love Songs” due to inclement weather cancelling the January meeting. It was organized by this month’s program committee, Carolyn Perrier and Grace Stacy.

The program began with Leann McKee singing two love songs, ”Loveliest of Trees” and “When Love is Kind,” accompanied by her guest accompanist, Jeff Garrett.

This was followed by her mother, Joyce Saunders, singing Elvis’s “There Will Be Peace in the Valley,” accompanied by Margaret Spires.

Other memories of Elvis were given as Jean Edwards played a piano solo, “Teddy Bear,” and Rise Russin played a piano solo, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

Sheri Hall sang, “Are You Lonesome Tonight” accompanied by Grace Stacey.

“Hawaiian Wedding Song” was a piano solo performed by Sheryl Moody.

Memories of seeing Elvis perform in Wichita were given by Marilyn Seymour who then played several favorites, “I Really Don’t Want to Know,” “Blue Moon” and lastly, “Love Me Tender.”

Grace Stacey concluded the program with an organ solo, “ Marche” by Gordon Young.

Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses.

The next meeting will be March 11 at Christ Lutheran Church with Perrier and Sheryl Moody serving as co-hostesses. Robin Himes and Vandetta Mongeau will be in charge of the program.
