Community Benefit WEC

The Community Benefit Women’s Educational Club (WEC), Greenwood County, held their monthly meeting at the Eureka United Methodist Church, at noon on Feb. 15. Hostess was Rev. Linda Pope. Eighteen members answered roll call by sharing a nickname.

The Community Benefit Women’s Educational Club (WEC), Greenwood County, held their monthly meeting at the Eureka United Methodist Church, at noon on Feb. 15. Hostess was Rev. Linda Pope. Eighteen members answered roll call by sharing a nickname.

It was voted to sponsor the 2024 Greenwood County Fair Open Class Arts and Crafts again this year. Ben Sims, Greenwood County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent, shared several upcoming events with the group. Some future events include Walk Kansas and a Food Preservation program. Several members volunteered to provide pies for the next Red Cross Blood Drive which will be held on March 25.

Jan Stephens shared a very informative program titled Sleep Is A Superpower. Information shared included the stages of sleep along with the effects of lack of sleep on the body. Facts and science for a goodnight’s sleep were shared with the group. KSRE Living Well Wednesday at the following website www.ksre.k-state. edu/fcs/livingwellwed/ was the source of information shared in the presentation.

The next meeting will be March 21, 12 p.m., at the Eureka United Methodist Church. Guests are welcome.
