Tornado Basketball Fell To Erie

The Eureka Tornado boys played two games last week, a loss to Erie at home and a win against Cherryvale on the road. Both games demonstrated that the Tornadoes continue to improve as the season progresses. In both games, the Tornadoes offense showed major signs of coming to life as their shooting was more effective and their turnovers were in the acceptable range.

Against Erie, they played well and for the most part were able to hang with the Red Devils. However, Erie hit some shots in the second half that doomed the Tornadoes, even though they shot relatively well themselves. In this game, junior Laken Valentine was the high scorer for the Tornadoes with 16 points. Senior Lyle Perrier had 12, sophomore Cole Ptacek had 6, senior Jace Nixon and sophomore T. J. Mills had 4 each, and senior Cole Adkins added 3. The Tornadoes’ leading rebounders were Adkins with 7 and Mills with 6.
