Seventeen members of the Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) claimed hardware at the Iola Tournament. EWC’s Graham Bechtel, Elena McCoy and Brynlee Ashlock all were named champions. Jad Day, Kade Fisher, Carson Eismann, Brandon Cornett, Tate Scott and Cort Decker were named Runners- Up. EWC’s Oaklyn Smith, Tucker Williams, Jackson Hobbs, Xander Turner and Felix Neill placed third and Kaydenn Winn, Keon Jones and Adleigh Ray placed fourth.
The following were individual match wins for EWC participants: 6U 48-52: Jad Day placed 2nd. He won by fall over Jayden Hegwald (Burlington Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:37); and won by fall over Gatlin Grosdidier (Kansas Thunderstruck Wrestling) (Fall 2:52).
6U 49-51 A: Kaydenn Winn placed 4th.
6U 49-51 B: Graham Bechtel placed 1st. He won a 15-0 tech fall over Lane Sanders (Thunderbird Wrestling Club); won by fall over William Lieberman (Red Devil Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:44); and won a 16-0 tech fall over Carson Gericke (Chanute Wrestling Club).
6U 54-56: Tucker Williams placed 3rd. He won by forfeit over his Kansas Thunderstruck Wrestling opponent.
6U 61-66: Carson Eismann placed 2nd. He won by fall over Steven Watts (Humboldt Cub Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:41); and won a 19-8 major decision over Hunter Sherbon (Bourbon County Cowboys Wrestling).
6U 66-71: Kade Fisher- Kirkpatrick placed 2nd. He won by fall over Jameson Madden (Effingham Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:26).
10U 73-80: Keon Jones placed 4th.
10U 143-157: Jackson Hobbs placed 3rd. He won by fall over Asher Turner (Iola Kids Wrestling) (Fall 1:22).
12U 73-80: Brandon Cornett placed 2nd. He won by fall over Noah Lanning (Blue Valley Wrestling Club) (Fall 2:14).
12U 88-96: Xander Turner placed 3rd. He won by forfeit over Austin Tyner (Blue Valley Wrestling Club).
