Bulldog basketball competed at home last Tuesday, Feb. 13 where they faced the Bulldogs of Chase County.
Madison Ladies led for what would be the only quarter of the game at the end of the first, 7-4. Chase County knocked down 11 points to leave Madison trailing by 5, going to halftime 10-15. Chase County had their highest scoring quarter coming out of the half, tallying 20 points. The Bulldogs of Madison went to the final period still trailing, 23-35. Chase County took home the win, Madison falling 33-50. Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were: Jalynn Weakley 14, Caylin Luthi 6, Sadie Albert 4 and Lily Hudson, Brooke Gaines and Jenna Thompson each with 3 points.
Madison boys saw a similar start against Chase County. The Bulldogs of Madison held a narrow two-point lead after the first quarter, sitting 9-7 with Chase County. The Bulldogs of Chase County pulled ahead before the end of the half, Madison down 13-21. The Bulldogs of Madison found themselves with a greater deficit going to the final quarter 20-36. The Bulldogs were unable to overcome the deficit and fell 25-46. Scoring details for the boys games was unavailable at the time of publication.
