The Kansas City Chiefs won Superbowl LVIII, but the revelry came to a sudden stop Wednesday. A day of celebration was ruined by gun shots. And, the reason why is still unknown other than an argument between the suspected shooters was observed by many prior to the shootings.

What happened to the good ole days when, if you got in an argument and it was bad enough, you just duked it out? Fists are better than bullets. That may be deemed politically incorrect nowadays though.

Abraham Lincoln was the first president to have what?

I took Punky outside Thursday morning and I saw some yellow crocus starting to bloom. I thought, “I need to get a picture,” but I got sidetracked and didn’t get one and Friday morning they were gone.

Where were you when the sky went “BOOM” Thursday evening? I was laying on the bed watching TV and Punky was sound asleep beside me. We both jumped, but it really scared her. Being blind, she didn’t know whether to stand still, run or lay back down. After about 20 minutes, I finally got her to lay down.

It was reportedly a sonic boom. It was heard from west of Eureka to east of Yates Center and north as far as Hamilton to as far south as Fredonia. Some people were in the right place at the right time and got to see it! I’ve not seen it first hand, but I’ve seen several videos and even more pictures.

Pretty cool sight to see. Did you see the snow Friday? I saw about six snowflakes.

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to the families of Sharon Kay Hall and Jim Cline. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

Answer: A beard. Molly Dehlinger was in Toronto with her mom and grandma on Saturday afternoon selling Girl Scout cookies. Several people showed up to buy the cookies.

The Toronto Booster Club held their first (hopefully not their last) “Crockpot Cook off” Saturday evening at the Gym. There were several contestants and many more hungry people there. The food was amazing.

It was a tough decision trying to pick out your three favorite dishes. I believe there were 12 crockpots full of delicious food.

And, speaking of the Booster Club, the dance, parade, car show and all of your favorite activities will be available again this year at Toronto Days.

They are looking for craft and food vendors for the annual Toronto Days event in Toronto. If you would like additional information or are interested in the event, please check out the application at: https://forms.gle/NR9ABkKBrBH6bezH9 Remember, if you would like to help out with any of the events, go to a Booster Club meeting or let a member know that you’d like to help.

Deer have been taking regular walks through our yard. Take Punky outside and she gets a whiff of them and zeroes in on the tracks and it’s hard to get her to do what she’s out there for and not take off tracking the deer.
