The Eureka Garden Club met Friday, Feb. 2, at the Eureka Country Club at 11:30 a.m. with Ann Coon and Marilyn Cathey as hostesses.
Roll call was answer by 11 active and two associate members. One guest, Cammie Wilson, was present. She was accepted as a new active member in new business.
Vicki Lindsey gave the Nominating Committee report with the slate of officers for 2024-2026. The slate was President – Vicki Lindsey; Vice President – Rise Russin; Secretary – Sheila Hughes and Treasurer – Sue McDonald. The election will be at next month’s meeting.
The Eureka Elementary School Garden Club has volunteered to help the Garden Club members with the mini garden. 4-H members who would like to volunteer to help the Garden Club members with volunteer activities would be greatly appreciated, also. Marilyn Cathey presented the program by giving each member “Words of Wisdom for the Garden” to read. The members received many words of wisdom which can help them in their everyday lives.
Door prizes, which were Valentine gnomes, were won by Patricia Soule and Lindsey.
The next meeting will be Friday, March 1 at the TNT Catering building with Carol Ann Flock and Sandy Dickerson as hostesses.
The meeting was closed with the Gardener’s Creed.
