Named Business Woman of the Month

The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Greenwood County Hospital (GWCH) basement meeting room. There were seven members and one guest present. The guest was Beth Whitehead, who was the businesswoman of the month. Roll call was answered with, “Your most favorite Valentine gift you ever received.”

The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Greenwood County Hospital (GWCH) basement meeting room. There were seven members and one guest present. The guest was Beth Whitehead, who was the businesswoman of the month. Roll call was answered with, “Your most favorite Valentine gift you ever received.”

Minutes of the last meeting were given and approved as read.

Announcements were made. Tammi Burtin informed everyone that Girl Scout cookie sales are taking place at this time.

Correspondence was read by Burtin. Hanna Reed sent a thank you for the scholarship she received. A thank you note was also received from the Eureka Christmas Wellspring.

Businesswoman of the month, Whitehead, was presented with a certificate. She grew up in Thayer. She and husband Issac have two sons. Whitehead is currently employed at GWCH where she works as an ER nurse. In addition to this, she also teaches certification classes at GWCH. She began working fulltime in the GWCH Emergency Room in July of 2022 and has been in healthcare for 23 years. She worked at Wesley Medical Center for 9 years. Her career has also included work as a clinical educator and two years with Susan B Allen Memorial Hospital. Whitehead currently serves as the PTA Pr e s ident at Marshall Elementary School.

There was no program for the evening.

The club sang Happy Birthday to Christine Mouer, who had a February birthday. Burtin won the door prize.

Hostesses for the evening were Mary Ann Thornton and Mouer.

The club closed with Club Collect.
