Bulldog basketball traveled to West Franklin Tuesday, Feb. 6 where varsity teams went 1-1 with the Falcons.
Madison girls kicked off the game with a lead they would carry through the game, West Franklin trailing by 7 at the end of the first quarter. Before the half, the Lady Bulldogs put up 10 more points, sitting 26-13. Madison tallied 9 points to the Falcon’s 4, heading to the final period 35-17. Despite West Franklin having their highest scoring quarter, knocking down 12 points to Madison’s 6, the Bulldogs claimed the win, 41-29. Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were: Jalynn Weakley 22, Candice Ashlock 8, Sadie Albert 6 and Jenna Thomson 3 and Caylin Luthi with 2 points.
The Bulldog Boys lead by a narrow margin in the first quarter, sitting 15-12 with the Falcons. Madison continued this momentum before halftime, putting down 10 shots to maintain the lead, 32-20. West Franklin came to play in the second half. The Falcons tallied 22 points in the third quarter to tie the game at 42. West Franklin concluded the game with a win, Madison falling 50-63. Scoring for the Bulldogs were: Colton Isch 23, Lane Smith 9, Gannon Pyle 8, Lane Darbro 7 and Octavian Dean with 3 points.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to host Chase County on Tuesday, Feb. 13 before hosting Lyndon this Friday, Feb. 16. Madison will then host Wichita Home School on Feb. 19.
