Broke School Record, Again

Lady Tornado sophomore Rose Buck set a new school record, breaking the record she set last year, at the Girard Invitational last Thursday, September 7, at Greenbush.

Lady Tornado sophomore Rose Buck set a new school record, breaking the record she set last year, at the Girard Invitational last Thursday, September 7, at Greenbush.

R. Buck ran the varsity girls 5K race with a time of 19:15.0, to take first place honors. The previously set record, set by R. Buck last fall, was 19:46.0.

Also competing in the varsity girls 5K was fellow sophomore Britta Mongeau, who placed seventh with a time of 21:50.

In the varsity boys 5K, Tornado Davian Damron just missed out on a medal, placing 29th with a time of 21:18.

Eureka’s Jonah Werner placed fourth in the junior varsity two-mile race, finishing with a time of 12:02.

In junior high action, seventh grader McKenna McDonald placed sixth in the two-mile race, with a time of 16:45. Lady Tornadoes Rose Owens and Reata Bogle competed in the eighth grade girls twomile race. Owens placed fourth with a time of 15:03 and Bogle placed eighth with a time of 22:29.

In the seventh grade boys two-mile race, Tavin Austin placed fourth, with a time of 15:49; Braden Buck placed sixth, with a time of 16:44; and Cohen Marks placed eighth, with a time of 18:50.

Eureka’s Will Morris represented Eureka in the eighth grade boys twomile race. Morris claimed first place with a time of 11:41.
