Eureka City Council Held Special Meetings

Members of the Eureka City Council convened for two special meetings last week in regards to the vacant City Administrator position. Both meetings were called to afford for discussion of the employment contract.

Members of the Eureka City Council convened for two special meetings last week in regards to the vacant City Administrator position. Both meetings were called to afford for discussion of the employment contract.

On Tuesday, Jan. 30, a 20-minute executive session was held following roll-call, for discussion in regards to this subject. City Clerk Renee Burk remained for discussion. Following the return to open-meeting, an additional 20 minutes were taken for the same subject, with the same individuals in attendance. When they returned to regular session, no action was taken.

After convening Friday, Feb. 2, members of the council entered into a 20-minute executive session for contract discussion, with Clerk Burk and Attorney James Watson remaining. After returning to regular session, an additional 10-minutes were taken for the same subject, with the same individuals remaining. No action was taken before the meeting was adjourned.

The next regular meeting of the Eureka City Council is Monday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
