Annual Eureka Volleyball Tournament Held

The annual Eureka Tornado volleyball tournament was held over the weekend with Independence going 5-0, to claim the tournament title.

The annual Eureka Tornado volleyball tournament was held over the weekend with Independence going 5-0, to claim the tournament title.

Eureka went 1-4 during the tournament. The Tornadoes defeated Madison, 25-18 and 25-15. Eureka lost to Olpe, 8-25 and 1525; Fredonia, 19-25 and 10-25; and Independence, 14-25 and 11-25. The Tornadoes then faced Olpe for third place, where Eureka fell 15-25 and 14-25.

Madison went 0-4 during the tournament.

Claiming second at the tournament was Fredonia, who went 3-1 during round robin action, before failing to Independence in the championship, 7-25 and 12-25.

Eight ladies were selected to the All-Tournament team by the coaches. Those being named to the special honor included: Kaylea Lemos, Tionne Johnson, Addison Lanning and Priscilla Raschen, from Independence; Zoey Sims, from Fredonia; Grace Coughlin, from Olpe; Trinity Samuels, from Eureka and Jalynn Weakley, from Madison.
