Bulldog basketball traveled to Mission Valley last Tuesday, Jan. 30 where Madison split with the Vikings.
The Lady Bulldogs took a narrow lead in the first quarter, Mission Valley trailing 10-9. Second quarter scoring helped Madison pull further ahead, sitting 28-20 at the half. The Bulldogs totaled 13 points for the second half, claiming the win over Mission Valley, 41-32. Scoring for Madison were: Jalynn Weakley 12, Sadie Albert 9, Candice Ashlock, Caylin Luthi and Jenna Thomsen with 6 points each and Brooke Gaines with 2 points.
Madison boys trailed by three going into the second quarter. Mission Valley put down 6 shots to tally 12 points before going to the half with Madison behind 17-25. The Bulldogs chipped away at their deficit in the third quarter, trailing by one as they moved into the final period. The Bulldogs were unable to take the lead, falling 47-53. Scoring for Madison were: Colton Isch 24, Octavian Dean 14, Lane Darbro 5, Cade Hurlburt 3 and Braden Grimmett with 2 points.
