On Thursday, Feb. 1, WELCA met at the Eureka Christ Lutheran Church Bell Tower Room and began the new year. Joni Booth called the meeting to order and Margaret Spires gave devotions, “Knowing God,” using Psalm 96.
Roll call was answered by four members with a Bible verse. Sue Erickson, Secretary, read the minutes of the Dec. 7, 2023 meeting and Spires gave the Treasurer’s report.
Seven communications were read, thanking WELCA for Christmas monetary gifts.
Bills were approved for payment. Announcements included: Fat Tuesday, Feb. 13, pancake feed; Ash Wednesday service, Wednesday, Feb. 14 and Christ Kids Camp, for ages 5-12, Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m.
Ericksongavetheprogram on “The Wisdom of God,” reflecting on Bible verses from Genesis, 1 Kings, 2 Chronicles and Psalms. The March 7 meeting will be led by Erickson with devotions, Booth providing the program and Grace Stacy providing refreshments.
The group repeated the Lord’s Prayer in unison and enjoyed a social time with coffee and dessert.
