Two Tornadoes Placed At Titan JV Invitational

Two Eureka Tornado boys wrestlers placed at the 2024 Titan JV Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Wichita South.

Eureka freshman Mason Hughes placed second and Tornado junior Dalton Pool placed third.

Following are the individual match results for Eureka participants: Boys 106: Mason Hughes placed 2nd. He won a 3-0 decision over Phillip Rattler (Wichita-East HS); won by fall over Gabe Lipinski (Wichita-Bishop Carroll HS) (Fall 1:18); and lost by fall to Nathan Landwehr (Wichita-West HS) (Fall 0:56).

Boys 113: Paiton Gravatt lost a 0-10 major decision to Tj Manuel (Wichita-North HS); and lost a 1-4 decision to Kolby Weaver (Wichita- Northwest HS).

Boys 150: Kadin Deshane received a bye; won a 7-2 decision over Dreamus Scales (Wichita-West HS); lost by fall to Aaden Vedder (Nickerson HS) (Fall 1:00); and lost by fall to Deondre Mallard (Maize South HS) (Fall 1:26).

Boys 157: Dalton Pool placed 3rd. He won an 8-4 decision over LeShean Deshazier (Wichita-West HS); lost a 1-9 decision to Emrik Torres (Newton HS); won by fall over Demirreo Mitchell (Wichita-Northwest HS) (Fall 1:43); and won an 11-6 decision over LeShean Deshazier (Wichita-West HS).

Boys 190: Trayton Carl Biering won a 10-9 decision over Andrew Lawrence (Wichita-West HS); won by fall over Jesus Trimnell (Wichita-South HS) (Fall 3:54); lost by fall to Hector Ortega-Arreola (Wichita- Bishop Carroll HS) (Fall 1:33); and lost a 0-2 decision to Donny Barron (Mulvane HS).

Boys 215: Ethan Bauer won by fall over Ivan Miller (Wichita-Bishop Carroll HS) (Fall 1:28); lost by fall to Kyle Mumma (Wichita- West HS) (Fall 0:29); and lost by fall to Luke Tran (Wichita-Bishop Carroll HS) (Fall 0:00). Up Next

Eureka wrestlers will compete at Cherryvale on Jan. 30 for Tri-Valley League honors before competing at the Circle Tourmament on Feb. 2 and 3 for their final regular season tournament. Eureka will host Regional action on Feb. 17.
