Twenty-eight free throw shooters gathered on Wednesday, Jan. 24, for the annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw contest at Eureka Junior/ Senior High School.
Champions were named in each of the six age divisions, with nine Eureka students qualifying for the regional contest on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. in Andover.
Advancing from Eureka were: pictured from left to right, front row, Maggie Mitchell (10) made 5/15 (she tied with Braxtyn Evenson (for the second consecutive year) but won the shootout this year, making 2/5); Molly Dehlinger (11) made 9/15; Amorette Guillaume (13) made 9/15 (she tied with Sydney Lindamood but won the shootout with 3/5); Jersey Cox (14), made 7/15; Preston Milner (9) made 6/15; Tucker Damron (10) made 4/15; Nolan Morris (11) made 9/15; Liam Mead (12) made 4/15; and Brody Mitchell (13) made 9/15.
Others participating in the local event included: 9-year-oldboys: Duke Coulter, Henry Stitt, Charlie Lindamood, Carter Winn and Carson Whittaker; 10-year-old boys: Jessn Ogden; 11-year-old boys: Cord Adkins, Cooper Wunderlich, Donovan Owings, Brannon Blakley, Henry Lindamood and Marcus Clark Jr., 13-yearold boys: Dash Gulick, Henry Perrier and Dylan Conard; 11-year-old girls: Alivia Hare and Kinsley Cox.
