As the snowstorm began shifting into Greenwood County, Charlie Kate Wiggins decided it was time she made her grand appearance.
Latham and Abbey Wiggins, of Eureka, made their trip to Newman Regional Health in Emporia on Monday morning, Jan. 8, and Charlie Kate made her arrival that evening at 9:33 p.m., as snow blanketed the area.
Charlie Kate measured 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 20 inches in length, at birth.
She was welcomed home by big sister, Jolie, age 5.
Her parents are both teachers. Abbey teaches junior high and high school Science at Hamilton USD 390 and Latham teaches Agriculture at Madison/Virgil USD 386. Charlie Kate was named after her maternal great-grandf ather Charles. Paternal grandparents are Mike and Rene Wiggins, of Eureka and maternal grandparents are Tom and Paula Linthicum of Laytonsville, Md.
