Junior High Tornadoes Faced Cherryvale Chargers

A-Team Boys were down by 9 at the close of the first quarter, trailing the Chargers 4-13. Eureka tallied 10 points before going to the half, 14-22. The Tornadoes were unable to put points on the board during the third quarter, Cherryvale growing their lead, 14-38.

After knocking down 6 points to the Chargers 8 during the fourth quarter, Eureka fell 20-46. Scoring for the A-Team Boys were Eli Mason 11, Maddox Hughes 4, Brody Mitchell 3 and Wacey Ross with 2 points.

B-Team Tornadoes played a close game last Wednesday night.

Eureka led going into the second period, sitting 3-2. Cherryvale was quick to take over, putting down 10 points and leaving Eureka trailing 7-12 at the half. Despite outscoring the Chargers in the third quarter, the Tornadoes were down 13-16 as they headed to the final period. At the buzzer, Eureka fell 20-22. Scoring for the Tornadoes were: Cash Escareno 6, Will Morris 5, Henry Perrier 3 and Hughes, Ryan Miles and JaKolby Robbins with 2 points each.

A-Team Junior High Lady Tornadoes hit the court running, building a 13-point lead over the Chargers early in the game. Momentum carried into the second period where Eureka knocked down another five shots to break for the half leading by 20, 27-7. Eureka tallied another 9 points before taking the win, 3611. Scoring for the Tornadoes were: Jersey Cox 11, Arabella Shepherd 10, Sydney Lindamood 9 and Lylly Stapleford, Karsyn Osborne and Anabell Bogle with 2 points each.

B-Team Lady Tornadoes saw a similar first half against the Chargers. The Chargers didn’t put their first point on the board until the second half of play. Eureka tallied 4 points in the first quarter and concluded the half 8-0. The Chargers came to play in the third quarter, knocking down 6 shots to add 12 points to the board. Eureka trailed by 4 going into the final period. A three from Stapleford and two from Celona Hall helped the Tornadoes tie the score at 13. After heading into over-time, Cherryvale took home the win, Eureka falling 13-18.

Scoring for the Tornadoes were: Sofia Escareno 4, Stapleford 3 and Abbie Foth, McKenna McDonald and Hall with 2 points each.
